Small rooms seem to make people frown. But, I think it is fun to have a small bedroom. And on the bright side, you would have a big area to sweep and clean. Furniture
Well, let?s get started with furniture. The main things that occupy space in bedrooms are furniture. Get space-saving furniture. I have come across a lot of space-saving and storage furniture, like a side-table that is also a book shelf, a bed that folds into the wall, a couch that can be transformed into a bed with just a pull, a chair that has a hidden storage space, etc.
The best and the most common space-saving ideas are shelves. You can have foldable shelves bolted to the walls that can be converted into a study table and later into a good looking funky or elegant (of your choice) wall hanging. These make your room look really cool, modern and unique.
Just keep in mind not to flood the room with furniture. A bed, a simple side table is fine for a small bed room. If your room lacks a closet, then a cupboard or a nice and small wardrobe would suffice. Forget TV stands and go for wall mounts. So what if you don?t have space on the floor, use the walls!
Bed
The bed is a piece of furniture that hoards most space in bedrooms. What can you do? You NEED a bed in a bed room, right? Well, folding beds, hanging beds and if it is a kid?s room then bunk beds are pretty good and fun choices for small rooms.
Folding beds fold into the walls and hanging beds can be pushed back into the sealing. I like the couch beds better since, they are basically sofas or couches that can be converted into beds. This way you have a nice place to sit during the day and a bed to sleep at night.
Hanging Bedrooms
A few people might be planning on constructing a new house but the place could a bit small and the home plan could involve small bed rooms. In that case, you can increase the height of the room (just by few inches) and install or construct hanging bed rooms. These hanging rooms will just have a bed and a side table.
Build a small ladder or a few steps to climb into the hanging bedroom and you can have a recreational or a hangout room just below the bedroom. A few steps to climb down into the recreational room will do the trick. So, there you go ? Two rooms in the space for one ? A hanging bedroom to sleep in during the night and a cool place just below the bed room to hangout during the day.

Walls
Now, colours, wall papers and patterns can make your bedroom look bigger too. Horizontal stripes tend to make your room look longer and wider. You can use a few light colours and paint horizontal stripes all over your wall.
If you don?t like the idea of stripes paint your wall with a light or neutral colour and match it with the furniture colour. Do not paint the walls with bright or contrasting colours and avoid accent walls because they will make the already small room look even smaller, which is kinda the opposite of what you want.
Now-a-days people have become a fan of wall hangings posters and frames. Most feel a wall is incomplete without those on it. If you belong to that kind, then rather than hanging too many small ones on the wall hang one but a big wall picture on the wall.
Mirrors
Hang or mount mirrors in the walls opposite to the windows and doors. The mirrors reflect light into your room make it seem like a bigger room. If you can you can use mirror tiles too. I call this ?The Mirror Effect?.
Remember, Just because the room is small, it doesn?t mean you can?t fashion it. It could a small, perfectly furnished, a comfortable place to live and also a fashioned room. After remodelling your room with these ideas, you shouldn?t be surprised if your friends envy you for the cool small room you have.
