PESHAWAR: Six hundred and thirty students of College of Home Economics were awarded BSc and MSc degrees while nine of the students were awarded gold medals for their excellence in the 16th convocation of the college here at Convocation Hall of UoP on Saturday.
520 Bsc and 110 Msc students of session 2008 to 2012 were awarded degrees along with nine students who achieved gold medals for achieving top grades in their sessions. Vice Chancellor University of Peshawar Dr Rasul Jan awarded the degrees and medals.
Registrar UoP Dr Fazali Hadi, Dean Faculty of Management and Information Sciences Dr Abdul Qayum, Principal of the college Ghazala Nizam, Deans and Heads of institutes were also present on the occasion.
Chief guest reminded students of the college that they were future and hope of the nation and nation had much expectation from them therefore he added students should devotedly perform their responsibilities for uplift of the society. VC told the students that they would face many challenges but the students should take these challenges as opportunities and never let hope dies.
Earlier Principal of the College Ghazala Nizam while presenting the annual report of the college said that there were twenty four Mphil and seventeen PhD students preceding their researches in the college while 34 faculty members had completed their Ph.D and Mphil degrees.
