Tottenham coach Andre Villas-Boas continues to be linked with the vacant Barcelona coaching position after the departure of Tito Vilanova due to illness.
El Pais, one of the most reliable Spanish newspapers reports on Sunday that AVB is on a three-man short list to take over from Vilanova.
Luis Enrique and Tata Martino are the other two likely candidates, all three are currently in a job, at Celta Vigo, Newell?s Old Boys and Tottenham, respectively.
El Pais list Villas-Boas as the third most likely due to the fact that Barcelona are unlikely to pay the 14 million euros release fee for the Portuguese coach.
They add that AVB has re-established his coaching credentials at Spurs after he was sacked by Chelsea.
After leaving Stamford Bridge, Villas-Boas spent two weeks at Barcelona, working with Pep Guardiola and was in contact with?Andoni Zubizarreta, the man responsible for replacing Vilanova by Tuesday.
This is the second time that Villas-Boas has been rumoured to be on his way to a major job in European football, having been linked with PSG earlier this summer.
And, comes on the day, Spurs appear to be closing in on another Belgian midfielder ? Nacer Chadli from FC Twente.
